DESCRIPTION
In the spring of 2018, the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Wamego, Kansas, sponsored a Wizard of Oz terrier artwork project featuring 15 painted Totos. Home to a large community of Wizard of Oz enthusiasts, the polyurethane resin likenesses of Dorothy’s beloved pet, Toto, were 36” tall and molded in two different poses, one of him sitting and one of Toto on his back paws.
Local artists took their inspiration from both the Wizard of Oz movie and landmarks from Wamego itself. The Wizard of Oz Terrier statues are spread throughout the community and can be found with the help of a Totos Around Town map.
