DESCRIPTION
To celebrate the completion of a multi-million dollar redesign of their Miracle Mile, the city of Coral Gables, Florida, chose a public art display that paid homage to the city’s early beginnings. Local artists were enlisted to decorate 51, 8 foot, polyurethane resin Venetian mooring posts. In the early 20th century, the boat mooring posts were used to delineate waterfront property for the city and are reminiscent of the entrance finial of the city’s historic administration building.
Icon Poly was excited to help the city of Coral Gables draw continued attention to one of south Florida’s most sought after shopping, entertaining, and dining destinations.
The posts will be on display April 20 – September 20, 2018, and will be auctioned off at the end.
