DESCRIPTION
Operation Lake Fly is a community art project that supports local artists and art programs in the Oshkosh Area School District.
In 2015, a collaborative working group containing representatives from the Oshkosh Area School District, Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, City of Oshkosh, Fox Valley Technical College, Becket’s Restaurant, Art Haus and the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau was formed. The organizations received grants and raised funds for their public art sculptures. Artists began working on their designs for the community art installation, and the Lake Fly sculptures were put on display in the spring of 2018.
