OUR PROCESS

At Icon Poly, we understand every custom 3D project is unique. Our process is designed to take this into account to ensure we deliver the best results for our customers.

1.Getting to know you and your project: We begin by asking questions so we can get to understand what your desired results and use for your project are. At this time we will discuss the simplest way for you to provide us with visuals so we can give you an accurate quote for your entire project.

2. Time to move forward: After getting to know you and your project, receiving your visuals, and providing a quote for your project, upon acceptance we start with the creation of a 3D digital model of your project.

3.Digital development: When your digital model is ready for a review we provide you images of the digital 3D model for your approval. If your request changes, changes will be made at that time and new images will be sent for your review and approval.

4.Creation: After you have approved the digital concept we move into creation of the full-size physical resin and fiberglass sculpture. After the raw sculpture is complete you will receive another set of images to approve the full-size 3D form of the sculpture.

5.Coating, Molding: After the full-size 3D form is approved we surface the model to get it ready for a negative impression production mold, we then mold the sculpture and get it ready for production.

6.Production: Depending on the scope of your project and whether you have ordered just one or hundreds of your 3D sculptures, we now use the mold we made to duplicate your sculpture as many times as you want.

7.Final Delivery: Upon completion of the production of your project, final delivery is made. If your project includes several of the same sculpture, more than likely our trucks will bring your sculptures directly to your location. If your project includes just one sculpture, depending on the size, your sculpture will be shipped via Freight. If you would like to come to our shop to pick up your sculpture(s) yourself, you are more than welcome to do so. If the time and circumstances permit, we will even treat you to a tour of our facility and show you how your project was made.

Our process was designed and refined over many years to be streamlined and produce your desired results while eliminating unnecessary steps to cut down on time and costs. Throughout the process, we provide unmatched customer service so you will feel assured the end result of your project will be as great as you imagined.

FAQs About the Process

Q: I have a sketch of what I’d like my custom piece to look like, but I don’t really know how to get started. What should I do?

A: If you have a sketch or image of what you want a 3D object to look like, getting started is simple. All you have to do is contact us at Icon Poly via phone and ask what email address to forward your sketch or image to along with some basic information about size and quantity. From that, we will provide you with a cost for your project.

Q: How much does a custom fabrication piece cost?

A: The range of price is extensive because it is based on the size, detail, quantity, surface area, and finish of your sculpture or 3D object. We can provide you with a quick quote if you can provide us with that basic information.

Q: Is there a minimum number of items I need to order when I work with you on a custom fabrication project?

A: There is no minimum order, however, you should keep in mind much of the work that goes into creating a custom 3D object is making the original and the mold to make the sculptures. Due to this, the more of the same sculptures you order, the less each sculpture will cost in relation to the entire project cost.
