In the heart of Buffalo Valley, Jewell, Kansas is building a growing herd of custom-painted fiberglass bison created by Icon Poly — each sponsored by a local business or family and designed to tell its own story, from “Bernie” the firefighter buffalo atop an 8-foot pedestal to “Colonel Jewell,” honoring the town’s namesake. Visitors can grab a map at the Jewell City Office and roam the town to find them all.
