DESCRIPTION

What originally started as an idea from the 2015-16 Leadership Holyoke class has now become a large public art installation for the city of 38,880. Giant volleyballs were thought of since the city of Holyoke has great significance to the game of volleyball. In 1895, it’s where William G. Morgan invented the game mignonette, now formally called volleyball. Twenty oversized volleyball sculptures have been set all over the city. These larger-than-life volleyball hall of fame sculptures were painted by area artists, some of whom are even from Holyoke.
